POS questions, answered before you ask them.
What a POS costs in Malaysia, whether it handles LHDN e-Invoice, how it copes with GrabFood and foodpanda, and what happens if you stop paying. Straight answers, including the ones that cost us a sale now and then.
How much does a POS system cost in Malaysia?
With 3FS, a Pospal licence is RM1,800++ per outlet in year one — that
includes the first year's subscription, so there is nothing further to pay
in year one. From year two it is RM900++ per outlet per year.
++ is before 8% service tax, so RM1,944 and RM972 respectively.
Hardware is separate and quoted against your actual counter. There is no per-module upsell and no higher tier — every feature on this page is in the licence on day one.
Does the POS handle LHDN e-Invoice and MyInvois?
Yes — sales are submitted to LHDN's MyInvois system straight from the terminal, and both routes a retail counter is allowed to use are covered.
Individual e-Invoice for the customer who wants a proper invoice, usually a company expense: the cashier captures their details at the point of sale and that sale is submitted and validated on its own. Consolidated e-Invoice for ordinary walk-in trade where nobody asks — those receipts are batched and submitted together instead of one submission per transaction. Your cashier does not need to understand MyInvois to use it.
Which POS system works with GrabFood and foodpanda?
Pospal does. GrabFood and foodpanda orders land in the same ticket queue as your dine-in orders — no second tablet chirping on the counter and no re-keying an order that already exists. Delivery takings are also broken out by platform on the shift report, so the daily close reconciles without reconstruction.
Can one system run a restaurant, a bubble tea counter and a minimart?
Yes, but not by switching everything on at once. Pospal ships the flow each trade actually uses: a live table map, bill splitting and kitchen routing for restaurants and kopitiam; sugar, ice and topping modifiers with one-tap repeat for drinks counters; barcode and weighing-scale selling with multi-outlet stock for grocery and minimart; and a per-staff booking calendar with prepaid packages for salons and bakeries.
Does it work across multiple outlets?
It does. Stock moves between outlets with a trail, and every outlet reports into the same owner app — takings, orders and profit against yesterday, revenue share per category, and an exceptions report covering voids, refunds, free-of-charge items and deleted held orders. Licensing is per outlet, so a second shop is its own licence and its own subscription.
Which e-wallets and payment methods can it take?
Cash, cards, DuitNow QR, Touch 'n Go eWallet, Boost and QR pay, all on one terminal. You can scan the customer's code or let them scan yours, and a single bill can be settled with a combined payment across more than one method. The shift report splits takings by tender and by cashier.
What hardware do I need, and do you supply it?
We supply the terminal and everything that plugs into it, so you are not cross-checking a software invoice against a hardware invoice from somewhere else. A typical counter is an Android terminal, an 80mm thermal printer for the counter or kitchen, a cash drawer that opens off the printer, an omnidirectional barcode scanner, and a router to keep outlets in sync. Handheld order terminals and a queue display are added where the floor needs them. Tell us your layout and it goes on one quote with the licence.
Does the interface support Malay, Chinese and English?
Yes, and the two sides are independent: kitchen tickets can print in one language while the customer-facing screen and the receipt show another. Nobody on the floor has to work in a language they don't read. Our own team supports you in English, Malay or Chinese.
What happens if I stop paying the yearly subscription?
The system stops. We would rather say that plainly up front than have you find out in year two: the RM900++ is a running cost, not an optional upgrade. It pays for the cloud side — sync across outlets, the owner app, and the updates that follow changes like LHDN e-Invoice.
Where in Malaysia do you install and support?
We work throughout Malaysia from two offices: the Melaka headquarters, open since 2018, and a Puchong office covering the Klang Valley since 2021. Installation and support are done by our own staff here — the person who fits your counter is the person you call when something stops working at 7pm on a Friday.
How do I see it running on my own menu?
Send us a photo of your menu or price list on WhatsApp. We load a handful of your real items before the call, so what you see on screen is your shop and your prices in ringgit — not a demo catalogue. Desmond can usually price the job off the same photo.
